Komatsu – Principal Partner of Williams Racing: a shared passion for precision and technology
In February 2024, Komatsu signed a multi-year agreement to become the Principal Partner of the British team Williams Racing in the prestigious FIA Formula One World Championship, continuing the historic relationship between the two brands from the 1980s and 1990s, when Komatsu supplied components for championship-winning cars.
Williams Racing and Komatsu share common values: innovation, technological excellence, and the development of talent—confirmed by their official partner statuses in the areas of STEM, Esports, and engineering development.
After a strong 2025 season, in which Williams finished 5th in the Constructors’ Championship—their best result in years—and secured two podiums thanks to Carlos Sainz, highlighting the team’s progress, the partnership with Komatsu takes on even greater significance as part of their shared journey toward further success.
The team is preparing for the 2026 F1 season, maintaining a stable driver lineup and continuing its ambitious sporting goals under the new regulations. Williams has confirmed that the new car has already passed the required tests and is ready for pre-season running in Bahrain.
For Komatsu, the partnership with Williams Racing is not just about brand presence in top-level motorsport—it is a shared vision of innovation, technology, and the pursuit of excellence on and off the track, perfectly aligned with the values Komatsu promotes worldwide.
